The Ultimate Fighting Championship’s long-running reality show, The Ultimate Fighting Championship could possibly lead to the UFC making their return to FX, as promotion president Dana White has hinted towards a potential broadcast deal with a few old colleagues.
The major UFC news broke earlier this year when sources suggested that the MMA promotion could possibly bring back fights on FX on an impermanent basis and Dana White himself has been pretty confident about the fact that the UFC schedule will be staging a comeback on FX.
White, in addition, has suggested that filming for The Ultimate Fighter is seemingly expected to take place at the new UFC Apex, which is a multi-dollar facility that serves as the home to Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series, as well.
Despite nothing being confirmed about the potential update in the UFC schedule in regards to The Ultimate Fighter moving to FX, Dana White sure does love the idea of teaming up with FX once again after three previous seasons of TUF initially aired on the FX network.
“I think we made some progress. We’re looking for where this thing’s going to end up. In a perfect world, I want “The Ultimate Fighter” back on FX. In a perfect world, that would be awesome.”– White stated after a recent edition of the Tuesday Night Contender Series.
After the UFC had landed a deal with FOX initially, The Ultimate Fighter spent a few solid seasons on the FX network and in a previous season of the show, popular Light Heavyweight fighters as Jon Jones and Chael Sonnen also made an appearance, which within itself was a major UFC news.
Additionally, reports have suggested that as of now UFC has no plans of returning to FX on a regular basis but the promotion’s viewership did remain strong when the UFC schedule moved to FX for an adequate amount of time period in the past. The UFC matches that were telecasted on FX were also another vital reason why viewership on FX remained strong and fans, in general, have had the chance of witnessing some exciting UFC matches on the channel.
